Sauber Says Goodbye to Ferrari and Hello to BMW

There has been plenty of speculation recently that Sauber would be ending its relationship with Ferrari, and the team would be looking for a new engine supplier. Rumours have been running wild as to which company would fill the void, and today BMW stepped out of the shadows.
According to this SpeedTV article, WilliamsF1 co-owner, Sir Frank Williams has announced that Sauber-Petronas will switch from Ferrari supplied engines to BMW powerplants in 2006. Obviously this ends WilliamsF1 exclusive partnership with BMW, who had previously said they couldn’t afford to supply two teams.
