Canadians Pay More for Corvette ZO6

Canadians are charged a hefty premium for sports cars. We all know it happens, but it doesn’t make it easier to swallow when we see the actual numbers. After calculating in the exchange rate, the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette will cost us over $15,000 more than our neighbors to the south. GM Canada announced the Chevy supercar’s MSRP will be $89,900, which works out to about US$79,000, compared to the MSRP of US$65,800 in the U.S. GM isn’t alone in this, as we are charged a premium for other supercars, such as the Ford GT and everything from Porsche. The real kicker is that none of the companies can give a reasonable explanation as to why there is a huge discrepancy in price once you cross the border.
