FreeStream T1 Roadster
What do you get when you take one of the lightest weight road cars in existence, and fit it with a 480-hp 2.4-litre V8 engine? The answer is the ultra lightweight 2-seat FreeStream T1.
At 465kg (1,025 lbs), the T1 has an incredible power-to-weight ratio of 0.47; to put that number in perspective, the 2005 Ferrari F430 has a power-to-weight ratio of 0.15. With its wind-tunnel aerodynamics, designed by the engineers responsible for the McLaren F1, the T1 will withstand over 3Gs of lateral acceleration while cornering.
You’d imagine that a car whose performance approaches that of a Formula One racing car would be relegated to the track only, but that’s not the case. Two models of the car will be available, a European road legal SVA approved road version and a full track version, but the road and track parts will be fully interchangeable. The T1 will go on sale later this year in Europe, with a price tag around $150,000 GBP ($302,000 Canadian).
