Shocking News: Paris Hilton is a Bad Driver

It’s not been good for America’s most spoiled socialite during the last few weeks. Apparently the Mercedes-McLaren SLR owner has decided that she’s above the law. She’s been caught regularly parking in a handicapped spot and then caught on film ramming a Honda Civic in her Range Rover before fleeing the parking lot as fast as her 305 horsepower SUV could take her. And to top it all off, a recent lawsuit has been filed blaming her for starting a multi-car collision on a Los Angeles highway.

It all began in May of 2004. One Brooke Ashley Brinson, identified as Ms. Hilton’s cousin, was driving a Mercedes-Benz registered to Hilton when she approached stopped traffic. Not slowing, Brinson allegedly rear ended the car in front of her, causing a chain reaction involving four cars. The three plaintiffs, Ivan Alvarez, Monica Delgado, and the couple’s son Nicholas Alvarez were two cars in front of the Mercedes. The plaintiff’s lawyer maintains the family sustained serious injuries, and as such filed the suit with Hilton’s insurance family after discover she’s only covered for the bare minimum of $5,000 property damage. The suit is looking for $250,000 per plaintiff. The irony? She wasn’t even in the Mercedes during the accident.

It appears she makes a habit of not being in her Mercedes’ when they’re breaking the law; her latest law-breaking trend being that she’s been leaving her aforementioned SLR parked in the handicapped spot of her latest boy-toy, Matt Leinart’s (quarterback for the Cardinals) high-rent apartment building. The other residents of the building have since complained. And to top it all off, not even a week later she was leaving a parkade after an undoubtedly tiring shopping spree on Robertson Boulevard with her newest “Best Friend Forever” and Nicole Ritchie replacement Kim Kardashian. After loading the expensive purchases into her Range Rover’s trunk she proceeded to back up (sans seat belt of course - wouldn’t want to wrinkle the duds) while looking forward. Predictably, she backed into a car; a poor Honda Civic to be precise. Thankfully, the ever present paparazzi caught accident on film, and Ms Hilton has since explained her thinking; or lack thereof. Apparently the collision had her so shaken up that she actually forgot who she was, clearly eliminating the possibility of leaving a note saying who had damaged the Civic. Perhaps such a handicap makes it so she does deserve that parking spot at her boyfriend’s condo after all.
