Honda to Sell Stream Mini-Minivan in America?

Honda Latitude Stream

Honda is a car company full of intelligent people, clever technology and some pretty good cars. As the brand continues to liquidate some of its sporty assets from its Acura division (NSX, RSX), and the Honda Insight, it’s planning to introduce a new vehicle that’s going to make life very difficult for the likes of the Mazda5 and the Kia Rondo.

Though North America missed the first wave of the mini-minivan, they’re starting to trickle in. Rumor has it that Honda is planning to introduces a fuel-efficient, seven-seater microvan that’s based off the Civic. What’s currently sold as the Honda Stream in Japan could be sold here under the name Latitude. In many ways, this vehicle carries on the same path as the original Odyssey, albeit with a less minivan-like shape and a small, fuel-efficient powerplant.

Though no technical information has been made available, from the Japanese-market Stream, it will have a flat-folding third-row seat and it’s (logically) powered by the same drivetrain lineup as the Honda Civic. If Honda does bring the Latitude over, expect it sometime in the new year.
