Audi TT Sheds its Top

I’ve always reckoned that despite its shortcomings in the handling department, the Audi TT more than made up for it in the looks department. Honestly, who cared that it was based off the Mk.IV Golf, when it looked the way it did. The new TT is a different story. It looks great, but drives great too. But what it really needed was to drop its top.
Audi’s just unveiled the second-generation TT Roadster. Like the original, there’s only room for two (but a bit more luggage, as it has a larger trunk), and the roof is still made out of cloth, not metal. Good news: it takes just 12 seconds to drop electrically, and it can be done at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
The TT Roadster will be offered in the same trim levels and powertrains as the Coupe, which means the 2.0T can be had with either front or Quattro drive, and a choice of manual or S-Tronic paddleshifting. The V6 can only be had with Quattro and S-Tronic.
