Exactly how this could happen is beyond me, but the French peasant’s best friend, the Citroen 2CV has been voted the most popular Bond Car of all time. Bond, as in James Bond.

The British Spy might prefer to drive Aston Martins, Lotuses and BMWs, but the public seems to think otherwise. The 2CV from 1981’s ‘For Your Eyes Only’ was selected as the most popular Bond car in a recent survey by British TV network Channel 4, taking an impressive 24%. The scene involves Bond, played by Roger Moore, hopping in a 2CV to escape hitmen.

Second place was a tie between the famous Aston DB5 in ‘Goldfinger’ driven by Sean Connery, and third was the T-55 tank, destructively piloted by Pierce Brosnan from ‘Goldeneye’ (13%). My personal favourite, the Lotus Esprit submarine from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ came in fifth capturing 10.5% of the vote. Pah.
