Nissan GTR On Its Way
Well on its way to 2008 production, Nissan has been working hard to perfect the upcoming Skyline GT-R. To be sold as a Nissan (not an Infiniti) and under the name GTR (not Skyline, no dash), it will still remain a two-door sports car. From the looks of most of the spy pictures floating around on the internet, the GTR will look very much like the angular, and brutal-looking Concept it was based off.
Previous GT-Rs, in particular the R34 GT-R was praised for its amazing mix of performance and technology. The new car will be the same, featuring all wheel drive, rear wheel steering and active suspension. It also looks as if the engine that’s set to power the GTR is going to be a twin-turbocharged version of the 350Z V6 engine, producing around 400 horsepower.
But what should get people truly interested is the fact that the Nissan supposedly benchmarked the 911 GT3 for handling. Pricing, on the other hand, is expected to be more around the mark of a 911 Carrera 2.
