Leaked: Volkswagen Passat R36
The automotive industry must not be very well sealed, as photos and information has been leaked about Volkswagen’s new Passat R36. What’s more or less a North American Passat 3.6L V6 4Motion, VW has bumped the power up to just under 300 hp, and added a very tasty body kit, and detail work to bring it in line with the Euro Golf R32. With DSG on hand, it’ll make mincemeat out of its fast-sedan rival, the Opel Vectra OPC, running to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, but it’ll hit that invisible brick wall at 250 km/h, while the OPC will continue on to 260 km/h. Originally, the car was supposed to be launched next spring at Geneva, but instead, it’s been moved to the Essen Motor Show in Germany next month.
