Nissan Makes a Front-Wheel Drive G35 (Altima Coupe)

Shove over Accord, Solara and G6, Nissan wants in on your market territory. The new Altima Coupe wants in on this segment (was it ever popular?), and is planning to steal sales via its G35-style bodywork. Underneath are the semi-humble underpinnings of the new Altima, which means front wheel drive.
Power comes from either a four-cylinder 2.5-litre motor rated at 170 hp, or the voracious 270-hp 3.5-litre V6 engine that can be found within a stone’s throw of any tuner meet. Gearbox choices are six-speed manual for those who like to shift themselves, and CVT for those who don’t like to shift at all (or, don’t want to feel the shift). Inside, the interior gets the updated Altima’s dash, steering wheel and console, while the seats get bigger bolsters to hold drivers in better. Arrival date is set sometime next summer.
