Sebring Convertible’s Hard Top Roof is Official

Here’s the moment you’ve (sort of) been waiting for: Chrysler’s drop-top Sebring. Known by all as the convertible of choice by rental companies, it’s been redesigned completely for 2007 and comes to the party bearing a brand new folding hardtop roof. Chrysler says it’ll drop in less than 30 seconds, yet still manage to hold a couple of golf bags. That’s a couple more than what the Pontiac G6 Convertible is capable of carrying.
The info we’ve got comes from DCX UK, where the Sebring will be available with two engines, a 189-hp 2.7-litre V6 with a six-speed auto, and a 2.0-litre 140-hp VW-sourced TDI engine with a six-speed manual. North American models will probably get the 2.7-litre V6 and the 3.5, both auto-only. Chrysler hopes to target the Saab 9-3 and Audi A4 convertibles in the UK. We say best of luck.
