Sometimes, cops need more than just a bad-ass rear wheel drive police car. Although Chrysler has been really cleaning up in cop car sales with the Charger (and to a much lesser extent, the Magnum), Chevrolet’s just about got the market to itself for SUVs. They’ve just unveiled the Police Package for the Tahoe, which marks the first SUV to be designed for law enforcement from the very beginning.

Oh? So the MT900 chassis trucks are suited to cop cars? Who knew.

Anyhow, The Law’s version of the Tahoe gets a whole host of heavy duty goodies like suspension, brakes, radiator and a better battery to power the improved electrical system for all of those computers and gizmos. Oh, and it has bad-ass steel wheels. The officers inside should feel rather fuzzy inside as it’s powered by a 320-hp 5.3-litre V8 that’s E85 capable.
