Little Panda To Make Big Paris to Dakar Trek
Wednesday, November 29th, 2006
This might possibly be the smallest thing on four wheels to ever participate in the Paris-Dakar Rally. The Fiat Panda Cross Dakar is a race-ready version of Fiat’s little city car that appears to have an appetite for an exotic vacation. With a raised suspension, durable off-road gear, and plenty of shovels and water on board, the car will cross six African and European countries over 15 days in January. It probably won’t be doing it as fast as the Touaregs or Pajeros though, as its 1.3-litre JTD diesel engine only makes 105 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque.
